Maxi dresses create a edge and glamourous look to the "oh my word do i really need to dress up in this heat?" ,feeling that we all suffer during the extreme heat in summer. There are many styles colours and sizes for everyone of us out there. I suggest if you dont know what or how to dress this summer, get yourself 3 different styles, a bright coloured one, a tribal or patterned one and a plain coloured one. So like in the illustrations you can play around with how to dress them. Another huge part of a maxi that i think is my fave, is the fact that we can wear flat sandals. There are a wide range of flat sandals everywhere. So get yourself a few pairs, also ensure that your feet are well pedicured feet. One of the easiest parts of this look are the accesories. If you are having a hastle trying to establish what colours to stick to for the look i suggest keeping your accesories the same colour as your shoes. It gives it a clean and insync finish. When dressing a black maxi try to use accesories that allow the look to "pop". Its the colour of your accesories that will create a "wow" look. Work with bright earings and /or handbags and lipstick of course. HAVE FUN WITH THIS LOOK IT WILL SHOW IN YOUR GLOW. Its that awsome time of the year. And what better way to make up for all the BS that you gave everyone through the year than a thoughtful yet fashionable gift?... Here are some ideas to help you get to the hearts of your sisters, mothers, bffs, grandmoms, daughters etc. The "shweshwe" handbags, clothing and shoes are a hit and a must. look at http://shwe.co.za/promotional-gifts/ for all these stylish and african beauties. You can also look under the search African Prints, Fashion on Gum tree for a variety of products. It will be a hit amongst everyone I promise. If you remotely have sisters like myne, then you would definately need to note this one, You never have enough hand bags, and the best is when you have a shoe that matches your handbag. So next time you're visiting your bff or sister or mother or grandmother that has a thing for bags and shoes.. take a quick peek into her shoe cupboard take a pic of the best stilleto or pump you know she wears to feel good, and get the closest match to that. It looks drop dead gorg and makes you feel like a million bucks. If you are like i am then you already know what you want for Christmas, and honestly the next few items are Monotonous but, so necessary in the game of "looking your best"... so if she loves make up she already probably has the right make up for herself if you reallywant to have a Christmas heart attack then request a list of what she would consider a 'treat' and go out in search of it. A great way to achieve this is to get the exact name and colour and make your way to the closest make up outlet that has the item. Online is of great help. My sister bought me the electronic facial scrubber with all the fixtures last year it was a great buy and i treasure it, for days that my face needs a good revival all i do is set out my scrubber and i feel as though i am in a salon of my own. You could also be a gem and book a spar treatment and give her the voucher, it could be for a massage or a simple manicure or pedicure. A must have is also good pair of pijamas for all the slumber parties and girl trips that you ought to be having. Look for the cosiest and fun pair (just ensure you get the size right)... We all love perfume and theres nothing wrong with topping up with a new fragrance. The trick to this is to trust your gut and purchase a fragrance you know she'd love based on all the hugs youve shared through out the years. A gift that i'd absolutely love this year besides a gragrance and make up (hint hint), is a good set of make up brushes. The absolute perfectioner to make up is a good brush.. there are sets out on the market that perform miracles. To all my ladies,
The past year has been absolutely challenging in all aspects, especially for us women. According to the African Union Commission (AUC), the continent continues to face enormous challenges with regards to the respect, promotion, protection and fulfillment of human rights, which if not urgently and adequately addressed, may erase the human rights gains recorded over the preceding decades. And when we take into consideration all these basic lessons of humanity, its easy to see that women hold the key to unlock greatness in mankind. Because, its our mothers, aunts, grandmothers, sisters, teachers and all female mentors that taught us how to love, respect, promote, protect and fullfill our duties on earth not only to our families but, to everyone and all around us. In my personal space I have watched women belittle and downgrade eachother in order to look good or gain more attention. I have also seen women with different backgrounds and beleifs unite, for one goal and objective. The fact is that we all need to strive together in order to create a respectful, protected and fullfilled humanity. This will only be achieved when we address all the elements that forbid us to better ourselves as one solid and strong unit. DONT FORGET THAT THE MOST FASHIONABLE AND APPEALING ITEM THAT A WOMEN CAN WEAR IS SELF LOVE AND RESPECT. WITH THAT YOU TEACH OTHERS TO BE LIKE YOU. LEAD WITH RESPECT AND SELF LOVE. 2017 IS UPON US AND WE ARE GOING TO HAVE A BOUNTIFUL ONE.
SO I PRAY THAT ALL OF YOU RECEIVE ALL THE LOVE AND GIVE IT ALL BACK THROUGHOUT THIS FESTIVE SEASON. ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT THERE IS SOMEONE OUT THERE THAT NEEDS A WARM MEAL, A COSY BLANKY OR SIMPLY A HUG. DONT JUST SPEND TIME ON YOU, TAKE SOME TIME OUT AND DEDICATE IT TO THE PEOPLE THAT WOULD BENEFIT FROM YOUR LOVE AND GIVING HEART. SEE YOU ALL NEXT YEAR... MWA I'm dedicating this weeks blog to all my sisters, friends and all the women in my life that have been inspirational in all aspects of my life. Whether you have inspired me or made me feel beautiful in all that I am do and say, you all have impacted my life in amazing ways.
I haven't blogged in weeks purely because of a lack of drive and passion there are a few of you who have asked me why you haven't heard from me in a while, thank you for reminding me that as much as you need to read and practise this I need it much more. Its breast cancer awareness month. So this is a tribute to all those woman fighting the big fight and being our heroins in the battle. For me I'm going to pay tribute to a family member very dear to my heart. Stephen Catin (my grandpa) fought his battle with cancer and was called home after a long and tedious fight. Aren't you just thrilled that they've returned with a bang?? I remember hating them way back when simply because it made some of us look completely trashy and cheap... BUT, thanks to the evolution of classy fashion we can proudly boast these babies around our necks without those stereotypes... I love the Victorian style lace with pendants. They in this season you can find a variety at Mr Price. When it comes to wearing accessorise there's no such a thing as too much... another great way to wear one is by stacking on... so play with textures. Also layer necklace lengths; start with a choker and a pendant and finish off with a long necklace. A plain velvet choker looks clean on its own but, you can add another aspect to the look by adding a plain longer chain. There's another favourite of mine that's been outdone by the Kardashians, the corset style choker is AMAZING to complete your look. I'm definitely on the look out for these sassy chokers. If you come across these remember "sharing is caring"... Did i mention that the choker has the power to elongate your neck.. I have a fuller neck circumference LOL (double chin) so when i tried the look it helped me get over my low self esteem. Because, you seem to lift your head higher when you know you boasting a piece that makes you look even better. I've included this one simply because if you should want to purchase one let it be the Pink to represent a higher cause. You can get this one online www.djzinhle.com The JC dress is a new trend that's hit the stores.

AuthorMy name is Jocelyn Ramberose, I have always had a passion for fashion. I found that the more I look good the more I taught people the same. I know first hand being a mother and wife that the last thing we do is take good care of ourselves and its a huge injustice to our souls. Archives |
